Mintmade, the service behind Cointelegraph’s News Clippings collection, works on the Polygon blockchain. We love Polygon because it works almost like Ethereum, but with almost zero gas fees. That’s why it is so popular among NFT marketplaces, including OpenSea.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to add Polygon or other blockchains to your crypto wallet using Chainlist.
Switching networks with Chainlist
Go to https://chainlist.org/
Click on Connect Wallet in the top right corner.
Type Matic in the search bar.
Click on the Add to MetaMask button under the Matic Mainnet option.
You might also want to add Polygon Testnet Mumbai if you want to participate in testing activities.
Adding Polygon manually
Add the MetaMask extension
Go to the settings page
Click on Networks > Add Network
Key in the relevant details:
Network Name: Matic Mainnet
New RPC URL: https://rpc-mainnet.maticvigil.com/
ChainID: 137
Symbol: MATIC
Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.matic.network/
If the networks are congested, an error about RPC will appear upon trying to use your wallet, sometimes changing the RPC url helps:
https://rpc-mainnet.matic.network
https://rpc-mainnet.maticvigil.com
https://rpc-mainnet.matic.quiknode.pro
https://matic-mainnet.chainstacklabs.com
https://matic-mainnet-full-rpc.bwarelabs.com
https://matic-mainnet-archive-rpc.bwarelabs.com
And that’s it! Now you have Polygon on your wallet. It’s that simple! You will also need to do a few things to finish setting up your Polygon wonderland:
